Raw banana fry is a slightly crisp and lightly spiced fry made in the South Indian style, it is made with unripe bananas.
Rinse, peel and slice the bananas into thin rounds and then add them to a bowl containing water, also add a bit of salt with water so that they don't darken.
In a pan, heat oil and then keeping flame to a medium or low add mustard seeds. saute until the mustard seeds crackle.
Next, add curry leaves and asafoetida.
Next, add the sliced bananas.
Next, add the red chili powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
Mix all these together well.
Spread the banana slices on the pan evenly so that they get cooked evenly.
Saute the bananas on a low and stir at intervals after 5 minutes for even cooking.
Cook until the slices becomes crisp towards the edges and then add salt. Mix well.
Next, add coriander leaves. You can also add some lemon juice(optional).
Serve the raw banana fry recipe plain or with sambar rice or with chapatis.
